Charlottesville, Virginia (February 9, 2016) – Regatta Travel Solutions announced today that the Region 9 Regional Tourism Organization (RTO) has selected Regatta Travel Solutions to power the booking engine on their official destination website, TheGreatWaterway.com. This is Regatta’s first destination project in Canada. Regatta will allow visitors to the destination website to book hotels, attractions and packages on the region’s official website, and will also provide individual booking engines for each of the 8 destinations within the region.

“Working with Regatta has been a breath of fresh air,” said Tom Price, Executive Director of RTO 9 of Ontario. “Aside from their ground breaking technology, the Regatta team has a passion for tourism and they are invested in helping the destination succeed. This is what separates a vendor from a true partner.”

“This is new territory for us,” said Ashwin Kamlani, Founder of Regatta Travel Solutions. “So we are going in with an open mind and will listen to the hotels and attractions to understand their needs and provide a meaningful solution. This has been our recipe for success in The Caribbean and in the US where more and more DMOs are adopting Regatta for their websites. We are honored to have been chosen for this exciting project.”

RTO 9, or The Great Waterway, is the provincially funded Regional Tourism Organization in Ontario that represents Bay of Quinte, Prince Edward County, Land O’Lakes, Rideau Heritage Route, Kingston 1000 Islands, Gananoque 1000 Islands, Brockville 1000 Islands and Cornwall and the Counties.

Regatta Travel Solutions now powers the booking engines for more than 45 DMOs worldwide. The Company’s booking engine technology is so advanced, that is it even used by major hotel chains to power their own websites.
