Charlottesville, Virginia (June 9, 2015) – Hotels using the Regatta booking engine on their websites now have a way to offer the lowest rates for direct bookings without rate parity violations. With Regatta’s new “Rate Alert” feature, potential guests can request to be alerted automatically if and when the room rate falls below a certain price. The hotel is then notified of the dates and room type the customer wants, along with the price they have shown a willingness to pay by setting up the rate alert. With the click of a button, the hotel can then extend a customized special offer to the guest to book at the rate they have requested, or make a counter-offer. The guest then receives an email indicating that the hotel has extended an exclusive offer just for them in an attempt to convert the booking before the customer either books through an OTA, or with a competing hotel.

“Hotels will never be able to outspend the OTAs, so we must outsmart them. Our team is driven to find solutions to the most frustrating issues that face hotels today,” says Ashwin Kamlani, Founder & CEO of Regatta Travel Solutions. “Too many hotels seem to think that it doesn’t make a difference what booking engine they have on their websites. The hotel booking engine should be the most powerful weapon in the hotel’s arsenal to increase profitability.”

“Regatta’s new rate alert feature is both brilliant and simple at the same time, which is exactly what independent hotels need to defend themselves… Solutions that are both brilliant and simple,” says Patricia Alfonso-Dass, CEO of Ocean Hotels. “This tool is a litmus test for each consumer’s rate sensitivity, and allows every hotel to make one-to-one customized offers to each guest based on their intended travel dates. If the rate the guest is looking for is too low, you can simply ignore the alert and the customer is not expecting anything since it is positioned as an alert rather than a request for a discount.”
