ADAIRSVILLE, GA – May 2019 – David Friederich has been appointed president of North Georgia’s award-winning Barnsley Resort. The Saul family, owners of the 3,000 acre estate, have selected Friederich to manage and oversee all aspects of the resort’s operations, including meetings, weddings, outdoor activities, events, restaurants and catering, 150 guest rooms and suites at the cottages and new Inn, and overall guest satisfaction.
A seasoned leader and innovator in the hospitality field, Friederich joins the Barnsley Resort team from The Whitley in Buckhead, formerly The Ritz-Carlton, where he served as managing director. Prior to that, Friederich served as the corporate vice president of operations and regional manager of The Kessler Collection, and general manager of Grand Bohemian Hotel Orlando – named among Condé Nast Traveler’s ‘Top Hotels in Florida.’ Friederich brings with him more than 30 years of management experience in the hospitality industry, including six years as general manager of The Cloister Hotel at Sea Island, and various senior leadership roles with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.
“We are thrilled to have someone with such extensive hospitality and management experience take over the Barnsley Resort team,” said Matthew Saul, owner. “We are confident that David's leadership will push our team to reach new heights, all while continuing to foster an authentic and exceptional experience for our guests.”
Friederich will oversee the recently expanded resort, which includes the addition of the 55-room Inn at Barnsley Resort and Georgian Hall, which brought the total room count to 150 and collective indoor event space to 16,000 square feet. Additionally, a new partnership with Beretta brings an elevated shooting experience to the resort.
“I couldn’t be happier to be joining such a prestigious resort,” said Friederich. “Because of the Sauls’ guidance and a tireless staff, the resort has earned a coveted name in the South, and I’m elated to become a part of this historic property’s story. We have great momentum following the recent expansion and new relationship with Beretta. I look forward to utilizing my knowledge and expertise to continue making Barnsley the premiere destination for groups, weddings, golf, shooting and leisure guests.”
