May 23, 2019 (Litchfield, Arizona) – The Wigwam, a desert oasis resort celebrating 90 years of welcoming guests this year, has appointed J. Green as Resort Vice President of Sales & Marketing. With two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, Green will oversee all sales and marketing efforts for the historic resort located in the West Valley of Phoenix, Arizona. In his new role, Green will lead a tenured team of 25 in the planning and implementation of inventive initiatives to boost revenues while boosting the AAA Four-Diamond services that await leisure guests and meetings and events clientele at the storied resort.

Green is a long-time Arizona resident and joins The Wigwam after more than eight years with Texas Western Hospitality, where he served as Senior Vice President – Sales & Marketing and oversaw a portfolio of 36 full-service, select-service and extended-stay hotels. During his time with Texas Western Hospitality, Green spent five years as General Manager of Hilton Phoenix Chandler and served Marriott and Hilton hotels in Tempe, Tucson, and Waco as Regional Operations and Sales Director for four years. Under Green’s leadership, The Hilton Phoenix Chandler was recognized with a bevy of awards, including Connie Awards as the top ranked Hilton Hotel & Resort in the Americas Region in 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014. Prior to Texas Western Hospitality, Green spent twelve years with Marriott International in the Arizona and Texas markets, working his way up to Arizona Area Sales Leader.

An active and engaged hospitality professional, Green has held various corporate development and community leadership positions throughout the years, including tourism specialist and member of the board of directors for the Chandler Chamber of Commerce; student mentor, contributor and partner for the Chandler Housing Program; and community leader and member of the board of the Phoenix Regional Sports Commission.
Born in Hobbs, New Mexico, Green had a southwestern upbringing between his birth state and Texas, and earned a Bachelor of Science in hotel, restaurant and tourism management from New Mexico State University. He currently resides in Scottsdale with wife and the love of his life, Michelle, their two teenage boys, Jackson and Owen, and their beloved chocolate lab named Charlie. In his downtime, Green enjoys staying active in Arizona’s beautiful outdoors, and enjoying food, wine, laughter and live music.
