January 2, 2020 – Stamford, CT – On January 1, 2020 Hotel Zero Degrees in Stamford will close to make way for The Lloyd, a new luxury boutique hotel being developed by RMS Companies. The entire building will be renovated and transformed into a 94-room luxury boutique hotel with a warm modern design. The lobby lounge will include a celebrity chef-curated breakfast and will serve cocktails and a bar menu in the evenings.

“After ten successful years of operating Hotel Zero Degrees Stamford, we are excited to transform this facility into the finest boutique hotel in the area with luxury accommodations and amenities, as well as first class attention to service,” states Randy Salvatore, CEO of RMS Companies, Developer and Owner of The Lloyd. “Stamford’s growth in our surrounding area, including UCONN Residences, the upcoming arrival of WWE and Charter Communications, as well as our proximity to the area’s cultural and entertainment center and the Stamford Transportation Center gives me the confidence to make this large investment to create The Lloyd.”

The hotel is being designed with a guest-first ethos – each step of the arrival experience has been mindfully and intentionally thought-out from a redesign of the front entrance, to the addition of a locally-sourced marketplace, a state of the art wellness offering, modern guest room furniture, bedding, luxury toiletries, walk in showers, turn-down service and the addition of a new elevator. The property will be in a league of its own, cater to high-performance professionals, accommodate families and pets and will partner with the local community to create the number one city-retreat destination.

“This new boutique hotel will add to the growing appeal of the Stamford area as a destination for meetings and sports events,” said Robert Murdock, President of the Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau (CTMeetings.com). “Its close proximity to New York City and all the Fairfield County venues will attract more meeting planners and sports groups.”

“We are extremely excited about the opening of The Lloyd,” stated Thomas Madden, Director of Economic Development for Stamford, Connecticut. (ChooseStamford.org) “Corporations are seeking a luxury boutique hotel product in Stamford where their senior executive desire to stay.” “Leasing activity has increased and companies have expanded continuously over the last year, especially in the downtown area to include: WWE, Indeed, Charter Communications, Sema4, genomics lab, Canidae Pet Food and Cholula Hot Sauce who moved from New York City, just to name a few.”

The Lloyd plans to open in the Spring of 2020. Corporate and leisure guests may stay-in-the-know by signing up for the hotel newsletter at www.thelloydstamford.com  – In the interim, inquires may email pr@thelloydstamford.com
