The Guestbook joins Bay Gardens Resort and other industry partners in donating to ongoing hurricane relief efforts in the Bahamas
BAHA MAR, BAHAMAS — January 29, 2020 — The Guestbook, the world’s largest rewards program for independent and boutique hotels, presented a donation to the Caribbean Travel Marketplace and Bahamas Relief Effort Fund last week, during a special ceremony at the opening of Caribbean Marketplace 2020. In addition to the direct contribution, The Guestbook also worked alongside Bay Gardens Resort in the development of a special charitable program following Hurricane Dorian that created widespread damage to the island nation in September 2019. The program allowed Guestbook members and Bay Gardens guests to donate their Guestbook Cash Back Rewards to the hurricane relief fund.
John Israel, Director of Sales at The Guestbook, presented the check on Tuesday, January 21, joining several other industry partners and donors as part of a group presentation providing aid for Bahamas relief during the conference.
“We are honored to be a contributor to the Caribbean Travel Marketplace and Bahamas Relief Effort,” said Israel. “The Caribbean is a unique and impressively resilient market that has seen an outpouring of support following the damage sustained during the 2019 hurricane season. It is important for us to help the hotel and tourism industry there to rebuild their infrastructure and be able to continue welcoming guests in advance of the coming spring/summer tourist season.”
The 38th Caribbean Travel Marketplace was hosted in Baha Mar, Bahamas between January 21-23, 2020. The event bridges leaders representing the hotel and destination industries, as well as tour operators, innovative vendors, and media for two days of meetings. The meeting is organized through collaboration with the Bahamas Hotel & Tourism Association, the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation, the Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board, and Baha Mar.
