Sales Are Booming Thanks to Expanded World-Class Management Team.
Zihuatanejo, Mexico (January 31, 2020) – After almost 18 months of careful planning at Sotavento Ocean Resort & Villas in Zihuatanejo, Mexico, a new leadership team is at the helm to take the first two phases to completion by this coming winter. Demolition of the north tower is almost complete, and Phase One construction has begun, putting the resort on-track for occupancy in Winter 2020. The Beach Club is open, serving delicious local fare and great margaritas, and the Sales Center is bustling with activity.
“Under our new ownership, the Sotavento project had some initial hurdles to clear. With progress moving along at a rapid pace, it was time to put a world-class senior management team in place to bring Sotavento to fruition. Getting this massive project on track and energizing sales is the direct result our team expansion,” declared Mike Drever, CEO of Sotavento Ocean Resort and Villas.
At the helm of the team is Jon Zwickel who has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of Sotavento. Throughout Zwickel’s career in hospitality leadership, his experience has encompassed entrepreneurial growth, corporate finance, acquisitions, hotel operations, franchise negotiations, and recreational and resort real estate. His skills are unique, and don’t go unrecognized. In 2017, Zwickel was named Vacation Ownership Industry Global Leader of the Year.
“With more than 67% of Phase One now sold, we’re keen on getting our excited owners into their stunning new villas,” stated Zwickel. “And demand continues. While the 10 poolside villas in Phase Two won’t officially be available until January 31, they are already 30% sold.”
Other recent additions to the senior team include:
- Sales Manager, Pat Heathfield, who brings over 35 years of sales management experience, most significantly helping to expand Expedia CruiseShipCenters into the USA.
- Marketing Director, Madeline Milne, an experienced real estate marketer, travel writer and ex-pat lifestyle expert who has spent the past decade living and working in Mexico.
- Owners Representative, Dale Bellavance, has over 40 years of real estate development, construction and management experience in a wide variety of mid-large scale recreational, residential, commercial and industrial projects.As the highly anticipated Sotavento project is brought across the finish line in the coming seasons, we look forward to communicating regular updates.
