SINGAPORE and MCLEAN, Va. – Hilton (NYSE: HLT) marked the launch of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton brand in Asia Pacific with the signing of development agreements to open two new hotels in Taipei and Christchurch — Hotel Resonance Taipei, Tapestry Collection by Hilton and The Modern Christchurch, Tapestry Collection by Hilton.
Under a franchise agreement with Times Square International Stays Corp, a subsidiary of Prince Housing & Development Corp, Hotel Resonance Taipei is slated to open at the end of 2020. The Modern Christchurch will open in the third quarter of 2021, under a franchise agreement with Sarin Investments Limited and in partnership with Tailorspace Limited, part of the Ben Gough Family Office.
The hotels will join Hilton’s portfolio of 336 hotels in Asia Pacific presently operating under nine brands, including Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, Conrad Hotels & Resorts, Curio Collection by Hilton, Canopy by Hilton, DoubleTree by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton by Hilton and Hilton Grand Vacations.

Tapestry Collection by Hilton, which launched globally in 2017, is a collection of more than 20 independent upscale hotels, each with its own unique style and personality. Tapestry Collection properties offer guests an authentic connection to their destination while also providing them with the peace of mind and reassurance associated with the Hilton name, in addition to the benefits of the award-winning Hilton Honors program.

Hotel Resonance Taipei, Tapestry Collection by Hilton
Situated in the heart of Taipei’s city center on East Zhongxiao Road, the hotel is located near the business and shopping districts, making it the ideal choice for both leisure and business travel. Guests will be able to enjoy Taiwan’s finest cultural sites nearby, such as Huashan Cultural and Creative Park as well the National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall. The hotel is only 700 meters away from the Taipei Main Railway Station, providing easy access to trains to various parts of Taiwan.
Hotel Resonance boasts 175 rooms with room sizes starting from 30 square meters, including 55-square-meter Two Bay Suites. The property also offers on-site parking, a fitness center and a Starbucks Coffee outlet.

The Modern Christchurch, Tapestry Collection by Hilton
Located in the heart of Christchurch’s CBD at 79 Hereford Street, The Modern will offer guest rooms with room sizes starting from 34 square meters, including 45-square-meter Deluxe Suites. The property will also incorporate a ground-floor restaurant and bar, fitness center, and on-site parking.

Contemporary art will be a cornerstone of The Modern experience, with large-scale prints by significant Christchurch and New Zealand artists adorning the walls of each room. The works will be selected in partnership with local Christchurch art specialists with the aim of celebrating Christchurch’s rich history of modern art and design. Complementing these works, and further continuing the overarching theme of modernism, the hotel will feature significant pieces of modernist furniture.
