As Complex General Manager, Mark Namdar is responsible for overseeing and executing day-to-day operations for the new AC Hotel Washington DC Convention Center, which opened Fall 2020 by TPG Hotels & Resorts and DC-based Douglas Development. In tandem with operating the AC Washington DC Convention Center, Namdar also serves as “Captain” where he oversees programming, operations and events at the Moxy Downtown DC, one of the city’s most talked about boutique hotels. Namdar currently leads multiple teams of executives and team members at the two DC properties.
With nearly three decades of hospitality experience, Namdar began his career in the industry shortly after graduating from Texas Tech University with a degree in Business Administration when he joined the Holiday Inn International’s management training program. From front desk to housekeeping and guest services to food & beverage, Namdar gained experience working in multiple positions, rising through the ranks of his hotel career. Mark’s track record of successful associate engagement and guest satisfaction has overseen several successful luxury and independent properties, and has been instrumental in transforming and reinvigorating many hotels that are recognized today in the forefront of the hotel industry.
Previously, Namdar was the Regional Director of Operations-Mid Atlantic for Hersha Hospitality where he oversaw the daily operations of 12 full-service hotels throughout Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina. Namdar then transitioned to General Manager at a variety of properties, including The Graham Georgetown and the Westin Tysons Corner, earning achievements and awards for revenue at properties along the way.
Erich Hosbach is a seasoned international public relations, marketing, sales and event management executive. He has perfected his craft working with luxury brands such as Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and Starwood Hotels & Resorts as well as DC’s legendary Hay-Adams Hotel and the boutique environments Kimpton Hotels and the Independent Collection. Adding even greater breadth to his portfolio of talents, Mr Hosbach also worked as a diplomatic security specialist with the US Embassy and the Embassy to the United Nation’s Agencies in Rome, Italy, facilitating visitor access to the embassy compounds and official residences, as well as interfacing with advance teams for diplomatic visits from US and foreign dignitaries. He brings energy, passion and innovation to every situation and combines his rare creative vision with unsurpassed attention to detail and follow-through.
Mr. Hosbach returned to the Washington DC area in 2013 and is currently working as the Director of Sales & Marketing for the Moxy DC and the AC Hotel Washington, DC Convention Center, two niche brands from Marriott Hotels. He continues to champion the arts to include programming Jazz performances and curating art collections within the hotels he represents.
