The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) Foundation excited to open the 2021 call for applications for its Mike Dimond Scholarship Program. This scholarship program was established to support degree-seeking students who are pursuing careers in hospitality sales, marketing, or revenue optimization.
The late Mike Dimond was widely recognized as one of the top hotel marketing executives in the United States. He was an iconic sales and marketing executive at both the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs and the Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville. Dimond is a member of the HSMAI Hall of Fame and was honored as one of the “The 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Hospitality & Travel” in 2004. This scholarship program was created by his family to expand and enhance the educational opportunities available to hospitality students that are interested in following in his footsteps.
“Mike Dimond left a lasting legacy on HSMAI and the hospitality industry, so it is fitting to carry on his work with this exciting scholarship program,” said Robert A. Gilbert, CHME, CHBA, executive director of the HSMAI Foundation and president and CEO of HSMAI. “The Mike Dimond Scholarship Program gives emerging hospitality sales, marketing, and revenue optimization students the chance to achieve their dreams and be an instrumental part of our industry’s future.”
In 2021, two $1,500 scholarships will be awarded to deserving degree-seeking students with the intention of pursuing careers in hospitality sales, marketing, or revenue optimization, to help cover their tuition.
