LOS ANGELES, Calif. – June 10, 2021 – W Los Angeles – West Beverly Hills is pleased to announce the appointment of Damien Hirsch to the role of general manager. Hirsch brings a wealth of hospitality knowledge to the iconic W hotel, aiming to position the luxury property as a destination within itself while managing the hiring, training and retention of uniquely diversified teams.
In his role, Hirsch will oversee the delivery of exceptional service to ensure guest satisfaction across all aspects of the 297-room hotel, including the famed steakhouse STK Los Angeles; the lively Living Room Bar; expansive WET Deck; the property’s chic poolside bistro, The Hideout by STK; as well as more than 10,000 square feet of meetings and event space.
With 18 years of experience, Hirsch has successfully held key leadership roles for multiple Marriott properties coast-to-coast including, Melville Long Island Marriott, Baton Rouge Marriott, Memphis Marriott East, Indianapolis Marriott North and Oklahoma City Marriott. Most recently, Hirsch served as the general manager of Le Merigot JW Marriott Hotel & Spa in Santa Monica, Calif., where his team was awarded third most-improved luxury property in North America in 2018, and successfully raised the hotel’s TripAdvisor ranking from #33 in 2016 to the #1 spot in 2020.
Hirsch continues to play a large role in the recovery of the hospitality community, leading as chairman of Santa Monica Travel & Tourism’s Board of Directors; vice chair of the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce; and co-chair for Los Angeles’s COVID-19 Economic Resiliency Task Force. Born in France and raised in Indiana, Hirsch earned his B.S. in Hospitality and Tourism Management at Purdue University.
