OLD TOWN ALEXANDRIA — March 9, 2022 — Experienced hoteliers Sam Selvi and Charles Williams are recruited to lead the new executive team at the Hyatt Centric Old Town Alexandria – one of the city’s newest, boutique lifestyle hotels that quietly opened during COVID. Selvi led Washington D.C.’s ARC HOTEL as General Manager for seven months before assuming his position in Old Town Alexandria, while Williams joined the team as Director of Sales and Marketing following his extensive experience with prolific hotel groups including Mandarin Oriental, Four Seasons, and Ritz-Carlton.

Selvi shares,

“Along with the excitement of leading one of Alexandria’s newest hotels, I am thrilled to embark on this journey alongside Williams. Together, we will bring a new energy to the hotel to create authentic Alexandria experiences for every guest. With Martha’s letter to George Washington wallpapered in guest rooms and our property’s prime location on King Street, guests are seamlessly immersed in Alexandria’s rich history and vibrant culture in every aspect of their stay.”

“Our property is designed as a launchpad for adventure. Steps beyond our lobby, guests have easy access to 200+ bars and restaurants and Old Town’s top destinations where they can dine al-fresco, stroll along the waterfront and disconnect from the bustle of city life. After a long day of adventures, standout amenities including Drybar Buttercup salon-quality blow dryers, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and an expansive lobby bar and restaurant are there to round out every guest experience.”

“In true Alexandria fashion, we chose to curate our design and artwork to reflect Old Town’s charming culture, especially leaning into the fact that we are a top destination for dog-lovers,” Williams shares. “We want our guests to experience our city through the lens of a local –– even if just for a day.”

Hyatt Centric Old Town Alexandria’s brand-new leadership team is uniquely poised to bring the lifestyle hotel to the Alexandria market. Using the hotel as a launchpad for discovery, Sam Selvi and Charles Williams look forward to inspiring their team to ultimately serve guests.
