BRISTOL, VA – April 5, 2022 – Situated on the grounds of the family-owned Nicewonder Farm & Vineyards, The Inn at Nicewonder Farm & Vineyards makes its debut in the charming town of Bristol, Virginia. Nestled in over 450 acres of rolling hills and meadows, the new luxury boutique property features 28 highly appointed luxury rooms and suites, including a 1200 sq. ft. Presidential Suite, overlooking some of the most beautiful scenery on property.
This ground up destination brings an elevated hospitality experience to the region, boasting inviting common spaces, a world-class culinary and wine program and nine customized Yurts. James Beard nominee, Chef Travis Milton oversees the signature restaurant, Hickory, offering exquisite, locally sourced cuisine paired with wines grown right on property including Viognier, Chardonnay, Merlot and Petit Verdot.

The Inn at Nicewonder Farm & Vineyards features two unique restaurants and bar experiences:
- Hickory – Hickory celebrates James Beard-nominated Chef Travis Milton’s deep love of and expertise in Appalachian food culture. He aims to bring the culinary traditions of his family and the region to the spotlight, elevating the little-known and misunderstood cuisine. Utilizing heirloom seeds that have been passed down through generations, Milton highlights vegetables unique to the region and grown on property at Nicewonder Farm. The 123 seat, fine dining restaurant features dishes inspired by memories from his childhood and upbringing, including a Whipped Spam with nori, miso pickles, yuzu hot sauce and fried saltines, as well as a Smoked Duck with shallot soubise, stewed kale, fingerling potatoes, and hickory syrup. To pair with the menu, Hickory will also feature Appalachian wine, produced on-site at Nicewonder Vineyards. With vines planted in 2013, the vineyard has grown from six to ten acres, growing Viogner, Chardonnay, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. The wines have already accumulated awards and are available for purchase by the bottle at the vineyard.
- The Nicewonder Vineyards Tasting Room – Unveiling in early May, the Nicewonder Vineyards Tasting Room will offer guests a delicious new menu of lite bites and tasting opportunities, with stunning views of the property’s vineyard, gardens and greenhouse.
The Inn at Nicewonder Farm & Vineyards will also extend a host of signature amenities:
- On-site Programming – The Inn at Nicewonder Farm & Vineyards will offer guests a plethora of immersive experiences to truly take in the destination during their visit. Programming will include complimentary s’mores by the firepit, self-guided hiking trails, morning yoga, evening meditations, farm tours and seasonal activities, archery and hatchet throwing, vineyard tours, and more.
- Yurt Village – From custom handmade furniture to the pure relaxation set among the trees, the Yurt Village features 9 yurts ideal for a mountain escape. Each yurt is its own domain, detached from the others, and is stocked with local beers, handpicked snacks, plenty of Nespresso® pods and teas, and the property’s award-winning Nicewonder wine. A light breakfast is also specially prepared for yurt guests each morning.
- Meetings & Events – The Inn at Nicewonder’s lake and vineyards provide a gorgeous backdrop for any event, whether the wedding of a lifetime or a special corporate retreat. The property boasts multiple indoor and outdoor venue spaces for events of all sizes, with the largest capable of entertaining 300 or more guests.
- The Wellness Village – Coming Fall 2022, the Wellness Village will offer guests a truly relaxing experience with luxury yurts providing a home to a fitness center, spa, treatment rooms, and more.
