DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, MAY 24, 2022 – As Area General Manager, Brock Hochhalter will be responsible for the premium and luxury Marriott International hotels in the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Hochhalter will additionally liaise with select Marriott International hotels and franchise partners in the market and serve a key player in the substantial growth and development occurring in the luxury and All-Inclusive segments within the Dominican Republic.
Hochhalter will be based out of the Renaissance Jaragua Hotel & Casino, where he worked previously from 1998 through 1999. He covered these hotels as the Operations Partner for the Caribbean and All-Inclusive, in addition to having been on the opening team for the JW Marriott Santo Domingo in 2014 and Marriott Port-au-Prince in 2015.

Hochhalter is a seasoned hospitality professional with 25 years of global leadership experience. Originally joining Marriott in 1996, he most recently served as Vice President of Operations for Caribbean and Latin America’s (CALA) luxury portfolio. He led pre-opening efforts to ensure ‘on-strategy’ openings, post-opening stabilization and ongoing operations excellence. He has participated in or led 21 openings throughout his career, 20 of which were in CALA.
As Senior Area Director of Operations for the Caribbean, Hochhalter provided operational leadership and was a champion of Brand Standards, Loyalty, and Guest Satisfaction. In this role, he also served as the managing director in Cuba, overseeing the operation of the Four Points Havana and the development of two additional hotels until Marriott ceased operations in the country in 2019.
Prior to taking on this role in 2014, Hochhalter served as Hotel Manager of The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes where he led all operational efforts for the 582-room resort hotel in Central Florida. During this time, he served as Interim General Manager at Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in 2013.
Hochhalter earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in Wilmington, NC. He is a US Army veteran having served as a Cavalry Scout from 1990-1996.
