Beijing, 26 July 2022 – Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center welcomes Matthias Al-Amiry as the new Managing Director, who will lead the management and operation of the complex, including a 480-room hotel, six restaurants, 170 apartments, 138 office units and 29 showrooms.
Al-Amiry has played a critical role in the Kempinski hotel group over the years. Prior to this appointment, Mr Al-Amiry held the dual-role position of Managing Director of The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore and Regional Vice President Southeast Asia, overseeing Kempinski’s properties in Singapore, Bangkok, Jakarta and Bali. From 2017 to 2020, he was managing Kempinski’s landmark Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin and achieved year-on-year growth for revenue, profit and hotel quality ratings. As an experienced hotelier, Matthias has over 30 years of immense experience with top-luxury hotel brands from around the world, and rich experience and knowledge of the China market. From 2014 to 2017, he held the position of VP Hotel Operations for MGM China, at Cotai in Macau; and, making his first journey to Beijing, he joined Raffles Beijing Hotel as General Manager, leading significant improvements and renovations of the property from 2011 to 2014.

Born in Germany, Al-Amiry holds a diploma in Marketing & Catering from Heidelberg Hotel Management School and certificates in Financial Management, Leadership and Revenue Asset Management from Cornell University. Besides his native language, German, he speaks fluent English and also has a basic knowledge of French and Tagalog.
