NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE (August 3, 2022) – JW Marriott Nashville, Nashville’s first true luxury hotel brand since its opening in July 2018, announced today the hiring of three new directors and appointments to its Executive Committee: Gary Barr as director of revenue, Jennifer Horstman as director of people + culture and Chris Mitchum as director of food and beverage. These new hires demonstrate how JW Marriott Nashville continues to draw top talent and reinforces its status as a 2022 Top Workplaces winner.
Gary Barr, director of revenue management
Barr joins JW Marriott Nashville as the new director of revenue management. With 15 years in hospitality, his previous properties include The Westin Resort and Spa at Hilton Head Island, The Westin Resort & Casino-Palm Beach Aruba, W South Beach, W Atlanta-Midtown and JW Marriott Atlanta Buckhead.
Jennifer Horstman, director of people + culture
Horstman joins as the new director of people + culture. SHRM-HRCI certified with more than 15 years in human resources roles, Horstman has ample Marriott experience. Her previous properties include the Dayton Marriott, JW Marriott Camelback, JW Marriott Desert Ridge, Scottsdale Marriott McDowell Mountains & Old Town Suites, JW Marriott Starr Pass and Atlanta Marriott Marquis.
Chris Mitchum, director of food and beverage
The new director of food and beverage at JW Marriott Nashville, Mitchum, is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and a certified sommelier from the Court of Master Sommeliers. Mitchum has been in the hospitality industry for nearly 40 years with past experience including executive chef with Hyatt Regency, Indian Ridge Country Club and director of food + beverage with Viceroy, Snowmass.
