PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (August 15, 2022)—This Thursday, August 4, The Paloma Resort welcomes overnight, restaurant and spa guests to experience the results of a $14 million makeover and rebrand of one of the desert’s historic resort properties. Located on the site of the Villas Resort (a once-beloved gay mecca) The Paloma is the newest and most anticipated boutique resort to open in the Palm Springs area this year. Room and dining reservations are now available at www.thepalomaresort.com.

Originally scheduled for a spring launch, the completely upgraded and design-forward property promises to be worth the wait. Among the new features are:

  • 66 newly-renovated suites and bungalows, featuring vibrant modernist-meets-pop-art decor, luxury mattresses and linens, and high-tech SuitePads for every task from turning on the TV to researching and booking dining and activities

  • Eye-catching design throughout, from the two-story desert-themed exterior wall decals to the desert-pink Adobe anchoring the pool area, to the brightly patterned textiles gracing the lounge, restaurant, and room furnishings

  • Sol y Sombra, the resort’s new tapas-style restaurant housed inside the historic Adobe; helmed by iconic Palm Springs restaurateur Chad Gardner, the restaurant features Spanish-inspired cuisine made with ingredients that honor the area’s agricultural roots

  • Grounded Bodyworks at The Paloma spa, offering signature spa treatments created by one of the desert’s best-loved day spas

  • A redesigned pool area featuring Paloma-pink accented cabanas and loungers, and a VIP-service Citrus Suite with private kitchen and giant flatscreen TV (available by reservation only); Pool Butlers will be on hand to meet guests’ every request, from pool towels to snacks or custom cocktails from the Pool Bar and Sol y Sombra

“We recognize that a summer opening is unusual in the desert, but global supply chains dictated the timing,” says Tim Brinkman, chairman of LIT Property Group, the family-run investment group behind The Paloma Resort. “We’re happy to have had the extra time to build an incredible staff crew, as we believe the right people are as important to the hospitality experience as the beds, the food, and the property features.”

LIT’s Regional Director, Adam Ramirez, says his team is looking forward to welcoming guests and making them part of The Paloma Resort family. He notes, “People who vacation in the desert in the summer know this is a great time to be here if you just want to relax, swim, eat good food, chill out with a cold drink, and enjoy the serenity of the surroundings. We are excited to show them why The Paloma Resort is the best place for that experience.”

Surrounded by 360-degree mountain views, The Paloma Resort is located off the main tourist drag and bordered by a date palm grove that was once part of the property, back when it debuted as a beauty spa by Elizabeth Arden in the 1930s. It is centrally located in the Coachella Valley, just south of downtown Palm Springs and a five minute drive from the area’s main thoroughfare, Highway 111, which offers easy access to shopping at El Paseo and vintage stores, Rancho Mirage’s Restaurant Row, and myriad area attractions such as the Palm Springs Aerial Tram, Living Desert Zoo, and BMW Raceway.
