Now in his 25th year with Hyatt, Mason joins Park Hyatt Aviara from Andaz 5th Avenue in New York City, where he served as general manager for four years.

Throughout his career with Hyatt, Mason has held a variety of leadership roles at some of the brand’s top resorts throughout the United States and Mexico. Among his notable positions, Mason served as the group director of special projects for Miraval, where he played an instrumental role in Hyatt’s acquisition of the wellness brand. Further, Mason has successfully led numerous hotels and resorts as general manager. Mason was the opening general manager at Andaz Scottsdale in Scottsdale, Ariz. also working with Andaz Mayakoba in Quintana Roo, Mexico, Park Hyatt Beaver Creek in Beaver Creek, Colo., The Driskill, an Unbound Collection hotel by Hyatt in Austin, Texas and Hyatt Regency Tech Center in Denver. Mason also held the position of hotel manager at Park Hyatt Chicago.
A Colorado native, Mason received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Hospitality, Meeting and Travel Administration from Metropolitan State University of Denver and graduated from the renowned General Managers Program at Cornell University. Mason is also a graduate of the Disney Management Development program, where he spent seven years working in a variety of management positions for Disney’s resort operations and theme park management. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, fitness, rooting on the Denver Broncos, Colorado Avalanche, and spending time at home with his wife.
Following an extensive resort-wide renovation which initially debuted in 2021, Park Hyatt Aviara unveiled redesigned guestrooms and suites that evoke understated luxury with a refined residential feel and a contemporary California-casual style; a reimagined lobby entrance capitalizing on the breathtaking ocean views; two new pool experiences; an interactive Topgolf Swing Suite; 80,000 square feet of upgraded indoor and outdoor event spaces; and distinct culinary and bar experiences. The Miraval Life in Balance Spa at Park Hyatt Aviara will include a full redesign by Wimberly Interiors to the resort’s existing 15,000 square foot spa, further elevating the resort’s luxurious five-star experience.
