From the banks of the Daugava river at Riga, Latvia to the shores of the Red Sea at Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, Leon Baum makes the move to Four Seasons Resort Sharm El Sheikh as General Manager.
Originating from Hertfordshire, in England’s green and pleasant land, Leon comes from a family of hoteliers and following the completion of his studies, he joined the industry in London to embark on an international career spanning more than 25 years to date.
His journey has covered front of house, housekeeping, food and beverage and operations, leading him to take on his first general manager role for the Kempinski group at the Stafford Hotel in London in 2011, thereafter moving to Turkey as hotel manager of the Çirağan Palace Kempinski Istanbul, and to hotel manager at the prestigious Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, and most recently opening general manager at the Kempinski Riga, Latvia. Acquiring an innate capability within all areas of hotel management combined with his great eye for detail has enabled him to achieve success within his career to date.
Bringing forth his wealth of experience and luxury hotel expertise, Leon is more ready than ever to take up the challenge and lead the award-winning Four Seasons Resort Sharm El Sheikh. Joining his efforts with the management team of the Resort, Leon is committed to guide the Resort towards a new era of success, cementing its position as the ultimate luxurious oasis on the Red Sea shores.
Leon’s adventurous and inquisitive nature lends itself to his love of travel. A xenophile, Leon has a deep appreciation for foreign culture and customs and is widely travelled. For leisure, he is a keen sportsperson, enjoying cycling and CrossFit to keep both the body and mind in shape, he loves nothing more than taking long walks with his wife and their Hungarian vizsla, Zorro. The combination of history, culture, nature and adventure coupled with a world class resort and team is what drives him.
