Clearwater Beach, Florida (October 5, 2023) – Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa, an upscale resort located just steps away from the Gulf of Mexico and Pier 60, welcomes Ernesto Fernandez as general manager. In his new role, Fernandez will oversee the daily operations of the 286-room resort including the on-site spa, more than 20,000 square feet of functional meeting space, and multiple on-site restaurants.

Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Fernandez received his degree in business administration from Escuela Nacional de Comercio. Fernandez has over 23 years of experience in the hospitality industry, working at 10 Hyatt properties across the nation. Fernandez joins the property from Andaz Savannah – a Concept by Hyatt, where he was general manager.
Fernandez was recognized as Manager of the Year in 2004 while working at Hyatt Regency Key West and in 2009 while working at Hyatt Regency Sacramento. While acting as general manager, Fernandez’s team at Andaz Savannah received 2022’s Team of the Year award. However, Fernandez names his wife and children as his greatest accomplishment to date.
