DENVER – December 12, 2023 – Tom Luersen, president of CoralTree Hospitality, today announced that Curtis Bova has been named general manager of the new Hotel Polaris at The U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. The new hotel is scheduled to open late 2024.
“It’s great to have Curtis on board to lead this exciting new project,” said Luersen. “We welcome him back to your team to make the vision of Hotel Polaris come to life. This exciting new hotel is part of a larger project at the North Gate of the Academy which promises to boost tourism in the area and generate additional economic vitality in the region.” Bova previously worked with Luersen and the CoralTree leadership team at Destination Hotels & Resorts where he was a vital part of the corporate sales and marketing team.
Bova most recently was the general manager of The Inverness, A Hilton Golf & Spa Resort in Englewood, Colo. where he oversaw all resort and club operations for the 302-room hotel and The Club at Inverness. Prior to his tenure with The Inverness, Bova held several different roles with Benchmark including regional director of sales and marketing with oversight of Garden of the Gods Resort and Club in Colorado Springs and several other resorts in the western region. His intimate knowledge of the Colorado Springs market, in part, comes from his role a general manager of the Cheyenne Mountain Resort and Club, where he also was director of sales and marketing for several years.
Prior to joining Benchmark, Bova was vice president of sales for Destination Hotels & Resorts where he provided strategic leadership for the national sales office network for both group and transient business segments. He also held several regional sales and marketing roles for the company including oversight of the launch and opening of Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.
Bova started his hospitality career with Marriott Hotels & Resorts with several property and regional sales and marketing positions in Colorado, Atlanta and Hawaii.
“I’m excited to be a part of the CoralTree team,” said Bova. “It’s an honor to work with so many of their leaders once again and to be a part of such an innovative, growing company. Their philosophy of “travel is good for the soul” and core value of “serving from the heart” are both deeply connected to my personal “why” for choosing a career in hospitality. It gives me great pride to lead the launch of Hotel Polaris, which is sure to become an instant icon on the hospitality landscape.”
Bova and his wife have lived in Colorado since 1997 where they’ve raised their three children. He and his family love living in the Centennial State where they enjoy the outdoor lifestyle and experiences that the Rockies have to offer.
