Colorado Springs, CO— March 7, 2024 — The Broadmoor is proud to announce the promotion of longtime employee Ann Alba, a 37-year leader of the resort’s unmatched hospitality team, to vice president and general manager.
Ms. Alba has been a member of The Broadmoor team since 1987. Ann has only had one path to pave during her lifetime: serving others in the highest form of hospitality, upholding the recognition of the longest consecutive recipient of the Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond awards hotel worldwide. Hailing from Michigan, she grew up in her family’s bar and restaurant business. Thirty-seven years ago, she walked through the threshold of The Broadmoor’s employee entrance as a banquet server, and today, she is second in command to The Broadmoor’s President and CEO Jack Damioli.
In her new role, Alba will oversee operations at the 106 year-old property including its unique experiences that lend to the resort’s fame, such as The Broadmoor’s Wilderness Experience portfolio, featuring The Ranch at Emerald Valley, Cloud Camp, and the Orvis Endorsed Fly-Fishing Camp.
“This promotion is in recognition of Ann’s unwavering dedication and exceptional contributions to The Broadmoor over the years,” shared Damioli. “Ann’s leadership has been instrumental in shaping the resort’s success, and we are extremely grateful for her continued service.”
Ann serves as president of the Pikes Peak Lodging Association. She is the recipient of the Colorado Hotel and Lodging Association’s ZENITH Award, paying tribute to her consistently high-performance excellence and outstanding accomplishments and recognizing her as someone who best symbolizes exceptional service in the hospitality industry.
In the lasting words of Ms. Alba, “You’re the conduit for the guest experience from arrival to departure. I love what I do. You can’t fake it, and when all is said and done, our employees are ultimately what our guests remember.”
