LOS ANGELES, Calif. (May 13, 2024) –
The Hollywood Roosevelt, the glamorous boutique hotel in the heart of Hollywood, announces the appointment of Andrew Jay as its new General Manager. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Jay brings a profound passion for hospitality and an impressive career managing restaurants and hotels spanning the U.S., including properties awarded with the prestigious Relais & Châteaux and Forbes Five-Star distinctions. In this new role, Jay will oversee all operational aspects of the hotel–from its multiple food & beverage outlets and entertainment venues to assorted accommodations and year-round events–upholding The Hollywood Roosevelt’s commitment to excellent service, guest satisfaction, and a classic, Golden Era feel.
“Joining the team at The Hollywood Roosevelt, a place steeped in the city’s rich cinematic and cultural heritage, offers the perfect home for me to utilize my passion for hospitality, entertainment, and the culinary arts,” shares Jay. “My goal in this new role is to ensure that every guest’s experience is as unforgettable as the hotel’s legacy, which I feel seamlessly blends the glamour of old Hollywood with the modern, innovative spirit of today.”
Jay began his career at the original California Pizza Kitchen in Beverly Hills, and quickly ascended through the ranks of the industry. His experiences with esteemed Chef Bradley Ogden as a sommelier fed his passion for wine, which ultimately influenced his overall approach to hospitality. In the realm of hotels, Jay then went on to manage numerous prestigious properties, including The Ryland Inn in New Jersey, Castle Hill in Rhode Island, Encantado Resort in Santa Fe, The Inn at Dos Brisas in Texas, Ojai Valley Inn, and recently, Ace Hotels in New Orleans and Los Angeles.
Outside of work, Jay can be found exploring museums, attending concerts, enjoying fine wines, playing chess, and spending quality time with his children.
