Accor Greater China today announced the signing of a unique dual-branded project on Banping Island in Wenzhou, featuring the debut of Peppers Edge – a new regional brand extension of Peppers, a premium guesthouse concept originating from Australia. The 235-room Peppers Edge hotel will be joined by a 135-room MGallery luxury resort hotel. MGallery and Peppers Edge Wenzhou Banping Island are expected to open in late 2027. The resort will provide both leisure and business guests with an intimate and personalized style of hospitality, centered around environmental sensitivity, memorable experiences connected to nature and community, and guest well-being.

With an enviable cliffside position at the south end of Banping Island, MGallery and Peppers Edge Wenzhou Banping Island will offer guests outstanding views of the sea and the spectacular surrounding terrain. Each property will feature its own distinctive lobby lounge, restaurants and bars, swimming pool and fitness center, with shared event facilities that will include a Grand Ballroom and ancillary meeting rooms. MGallery will bring its distinctive charm, with strong storytelling and design identity, and its signature constellation of curated experiences. This will dovetail nicely with the warm guesthouse spirit of the Peppers brand, its dedication to crafting unique and soulful stays, and its skill at weaving together local culinary delights, immersive outdoor activities and holistic sensory experiences that nurture overall wellbeing.

Banping Island is located in Dongtou district in Wenzhou, off the southeast coast of East China’s Zhejiang province. The area has earned a reputation as an ‘international eco-tourism island’ as well as being a ‘garden on the sea’, while balancing the interests of business and investment. Rich in island flavor and charm, the district is actively developing more seaside activities for the public to enjoy, and expediting ease of accessibility. The transformation and upgrading of the central fishing port and Banping Island are underway with the construction of cultural caves, urban cultural and sports tourism multi-functional venue projects, and a Shangcheng Arts Center.

MGallery in Banping Island, Wenzhou is another proof point in the MGallery ambitious path of expansion across Greater China, with five hotels opening in 2024, including destinations in Taipei (already opened), Chengdu, Wuxi, Nanjing and Shenzhen.
