McLean, VA (Aug. 26, 2024) – The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International is thrilled to announce the chartering of two new chapters –  Tennessee Valley and Greater Denver. These new chapters highlight HSMAI’s strategic priority to broaden the association’s reach, focus on developing new markets, and enhance member value proposition through localized engagement.

Based in Huntsville, Alabama, HSMAI’s Tennessee Valley Chapter was chartered on July 9, 2024, with a focus on building a strong community of hospitality professionals. The chapter’s inaugural event featured hospitality expert and speaker Bob Anderson who discussed how to target, connect and close new and better business more effectively to increase top-line revenues and profits.

“We are incredibly excited to launch the Tennessee Valley Chapter,” said Robert Lewis, Tennessee Valley chapter president. “Our goal is to empower local professionals with the tools and knowledge they need to thrive in this dynamic industry. The overwhelming response to our inaugural event is a testament to the commitment and enthusiasm of our members, and we look forward to building a strong foundation that will drive growth and excellence in the Tennessee Valley region.”

HSMAI’s Greater Denver Chapter aims to grow business at local hotels and their partners through fueling sales, inspiring marketing and optimizing revenue. Chartered on Aug. 1, 2024, the inaugural event featured industry leaders from Visit Denver, Booking.com, STR, and Denver International Airport, providing a comprehensive update on the current state of Denver’s hotel landscape.

“In launching the Greater Denver Chapter, we are committed to advancing the education, expertise, and professionalism of commercial services in the hospitality industry through comprehensive programs, industry alignment, and practical engagement, ultimately closing development gaps not addressed by brands, vendors, or universities,” said Andre Fournier, chief commercial officer, CoralTree Hospitality. “I would like to acknowledge our Denver grant supporters, Booking.com, CoralTree Hospitality, Lighthouse, Sage Hospitality, Screen Pilot, and Visit Aurora, along with past president & CEO of HSMAI, Bob Gilbert, and director, chapter management, Jenny Teeson, for their support in building a community that cares deeply about the betterment of our industry in Greater Denver. Together, we aim to enhance the guest journey process and deliver superior customer experiences.”

These two new chapter openings showcase HSMAI’s continued efforts to increase its focus on local chapter engagement. This approach emphasizes customizing educational programs to meet the distinct needs of the local market, essential for driving revenue growth cost-effectively. Establishing new chapters and developing localized educational initiatives are key elements of this strategy, catering to both on-property and above-property professionals.
