(September 11, 2024) – The Kimpton Sawyer Hotel is pleased to announce the appointment of Claire Johnsen as Director of Sales and Marketing for the 250-room hotel located in the vibrant Downtown Commons (DOCO) area. With nearly a decade of experience at Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, Johnsen brings a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record of driving significant revenue growth, spearheading innovative group and leisure sales strategies, cultivating strong client relationships as well as delivering exceptional marketing and public relations strategies.

In her new role, Johnsen will continue to oversee all sales and marketing operations with a focus on maximizing revenue, fostering client relationships, introducing new partnerships and maintaining the hotel’s status as a preferred choice in Sacramento.

Johnsen has been with Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants since 2015, holding various leadership roles that have underscored her strong connection to the brand. She most recently served as director of sales at The Sawyer, playing a pivotal role in driving revenue, managing a dynamic sales team and overseeing marketing initiatives on property. Additional previous roles at The Sawyer include serving as associate director of sales, overseeing the hotel’s corporate- and sports-focused group business, and director of catering, leading successful campaigns that consistently exceeded sales goals.

Prior to her time at The Sawyer, Johnsen served as director of catering at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Salt Lake City, establishing and fostering key relationships with both local and national restaurants. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in in public relations, and a minor in communications, from the University of Oregon.
