Sept. 05–Trump Entertainment Resorts Inc., will be laying off employees at its Atlantic City properties, though the extent of the cutbacks remain unknown.
Brian Cahill, a spokesman for Trump, confirmed that Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort and Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino will both see a reduction in staff. He declined to say how many employees will be affected.
“Unfortunately, we need to react to the current market situation,” he said, adding that the situation is one that many shore businesses experience after the summer season ends.
Wages have also been reduced for what Cahill called a “small percentage” of on-call and part-time personnel. Full-time employees have not seen a reduction in pay, he said.
