Oct. 08–AC Hotels by Marriott, a brand with more than 80 hotels in Europe, is coming to Miami Beach.

Details are few and Maryland-based Marriott International isn’t commenting, but local developer Robert Finvarb Companies has the project listed on its website. No timeline is given for the project.

According to the site, the 150-room hotel will be located at 2912 Collins Ave., across the street from another Marriott venture, the Miami Beach Edition hotel. The AC Hotel project will also include more than 4,000 square feet of retail.

“The project will combine a distinct European style with simple, clean and crisp lines to reflect the uniqueness of the brand within the dynamic global destination that is Miami Beach,” the developer’s site says.

According to the Miami Beach Historic Preservation Board, the site is now a parking lot.

Marriott announced in June that it would bring the hotel brand to the United States and rest of the Americas. The hotel company teamed up with AC Hotels, a Spanish group, for the joint venture in 2011.
