Nov. 12–GREENSBORO — The O.Henry Hotel has been selected to join the Southern Living Hotel Collection a week before it celebrates 15 years at its new location, according to The Business Journal.

The hotel is currently going through a $2 million renovation that will transform former administrative office space into a paneled event space called the Palmer Room, which will provide private dining or meeting space for up to 22 people, as well as converting a former business center into a new lower-level lobby, according to the report.

The hotel operated in downtown Greensboro from 1919 to 1979 before moving into the building at 624 Green Valley Rd. 15 years ago.

The Southern Living Hotel Collection list consists of top-quality independent inns and hotels throughout the south that offer a memorable experience through impeccable service, outstanding cuisine, high-quality facilities and the finest amenities, according to the report.
