Jan. 14–Renault Winery Resort & Golf, in Egg Harbor City, is in the process of being sold to a buyer based in New Jersey, its management said Tuesday.

Paul Verdi, general manager of Renault, said the resort is under an agreement of sale and the buyer is examining the financial and other details involved with the transaction.

“It’s confidential who the buyer is. We can’t make a formal announcement until the due diligence is done,” said Verdi, of Mantua in Gloucester County. “We expect settlement in the first quarter.”

Current owner Joseph Milza purchased the winery in 1977 and added substantially to the resort complex, making it a tourism destination.

Additions have included the lavish Tuscany House Hotel, an 18-hole golf course, the Gourmet Restaurant and Joseph’s Restaurant.

Renault Winery Resort & Golf has continued to offer tours and tastings at one of the area’s earliest wineries.
