London, UK – Two of the world’s leading providers of hotel technology solutions, Oracle MICROS and SiteMinder, have today announced an enhanced partnership through the integration of the MICROS-Fidelio Suite8 property management system (PMS) software with SiteMinder’s leading cloud platform for hotel distribution.
The move – which comes just few days before ITB Berlin where both companies will be present – will allow hotel users of Suite8 to benefit from live rates and availabilities, and reservations, being delivered from their online booking channels to their PMS in real-time.
“With online bookings expected to grow by seven percent in the European travel market this year, in spite of economic and geopolitical challenges[1], it was crucial for us to select a reliable, fully-integrated solution for our hotel customers. For years, MICROS has enjoyed a terrific partnership with SiteMinder through its deep integration with our OPERA PMS and ORS, so they are a partner we know and trust,” says Tobias Fahnert, Vice President Hotel Development EMEA.
“This new integration will allow our customers, particularly within Germany and other parts of Europe, to generate new and more sustainable revenue, whilst lowering their cost of guest acquisition and eradicating the need for manual data capture of online reservations.”
SiteMinder, the leading cloud platform for hotel distribution, provides complete two-way integrations for PMSs and integrates with more than 100 PMSs globally.
Over the 12 months ending 30 June 2014, the SiteMinder cloud platform for hotels spearheaded the delivery of more than 18 million reservations worth over US$7.4 billion in revenue for its global hotel customer base.
Speaking on Germany, Jason Lewis, VP Sales for SiteMinder’s EMEA region, says it is one of the company’s key markets due to its immense growth potential.
“Germany remains the world’s largest outbound travel market, ahead of booming markets such as the U.S. and China, and it is expected to maintain its 2 percent growth rate in 2015.[2] On the flipside, Germany was also one of the world’s top six long-haul destinations last year, proving it is a market where local hotels can benefit from connections to global travellers and that is what SiteMinder offers to its customers,” says Mr Lewis.
“We are delighted to enhance our partnership with MICROS and help their customers secure more direct connections with more than 250 of the world’s leading distribution channels.”
