SAN ANTONIO – La Cantera Hill Country Resort announces the appointment of a dynamic food and beverage team comprised of William Primavera, director of food and beverage operations, John Zaner, director of culinary operations and Executive Chef Robert Carr. La Cantera Hill Country Resort, managed by Destination Hotels, will welcome back guests in April after a multi-million dollar transformation, including nine new restaurants and bar concepts.
William Primavera, director of food and beverage operations, will be accountable for the creativity, innovation and operational excellence of the Resort’s food and beverage concepts, working in partnership with operations leadership and the resort’s culinary team. Primavera is a 25-year veteran in the food and beverage industry, with experience garnered from renowned properties such as the Marriott Renaissance, the Grand Hyatt Resort in Kauai, Hawaii and Koi Restaurant at Planet Hollywood resort in Las Vegas.
John Zaner has joined the team as director of culinary operations and brings more than 30 years of diverse culinary skills ranging from Executive Chef at the five star Ritz-Carlton in Kapalua, Hawaii and more than a decade in the lead culinary role at the Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa. Zaner will oversee product development for all new menu items, as well as developing and leading the culinary team, overseeing strategy that supports restaurant and event operations, including customer satisfaction.
Executive Chef Robert Carr’s extensive knowledge combined with culinary creativity, complements the resort’s wide variety of offerings that range from small bites and finger foods to exceptional concept dining and superlative meeting and event cuisine. Carr’s experience includes the Grand Hyatt in Kauai, Hawaii, the Hyatt at Fisherman’s Warf San Francisco, California and the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort and Spa, California.
