MIAMI, Fla. (April 27, 2015) – The Gettys Group celebrates several recent hospitality projects developed under the senior direction of Lorraine Knapp Masch, LEED AP, Director of the firm’s Miami studio. During her first year leading the Miami Studio, Masch has overseen the design work for a number of high profile properties and renovations to existing hotels throughout the United States and internationally in the Caribbean and South America. Some recent highlights from The Gettys Group’s Miami Studio include Autograph Playa Largo Resort, Doubletree Nashville, and Wyndham Lake Buena Vista in Orlando Florida.
Autograph Playa Largo Resort – Autograph Playa Largo Resort is Key Largo’s first new hotel property constructed in over 25 years and, following The Epicurean Hotel in Tampa, is the second ever new-build Autograph property in the United States. Using a design vocabulary drawn from sea glass, shell tones, and sand dunes, the interiors of the hotel create a breezy seaside atmosphere that blends classic American sophistication with casual Caribbean chill. This complete resort property also features ten private bungalows, a full-service restaurant, and a beach club for local residents.
Doubletree Nashville -This hotel’s design was inspired by the idyllic mansions of the old South, from the motor lobby reminiscent of a southern wrap-around porch to the tucked-away meetings rooms decorated with a speakeasy theme. In the lobby and public spaces, Gettys’ designers incorporated an autumnal color palate, vintage artwork, and a variety of bookcases containing reclaimed ephemera like record players, model cars, and other found objects.
Wyndham Lake Buena Vista, Orlando -The renovations to the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista’s guest room tower were inspired by the bright, breezy lake houses of southern Florida. Details like driftwood, nautical roping, and leather accents update the look of the rooms, which also received all new case goods. With the hotel’s location directly adjacent to popular family destination of Downtown Disney, Gettys’ designers kept children and families in mind – flexible ottomans in each guest room can be conveniently tucked away or pulled out when there is a need for additional seating or space.
The Gettys Group’s extensive experience in the Caribbean and Latin America markets includes Sheraton Cable Beach Resort in Nassau, Bahamas, Guanacaste Resort in Costa Rica, Sheraton Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, and the Hard Rock Hotels in Punta Cana and Cancun. Lorraine Knapp Masch, LEED AP and Meg Prendergast from The Gettys Group will be in attendance at the Caribbean Hotel & Resort Investment Summit and Hotel Opportunities Latin America conferences in Miami.
