LAS VEGAS, May 15, 2015 — ‘Doubling down’ is taking on a different meaning at the Choice Hotels International 61st Annual Convention in Las Vegas. Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, announced the opening of its first prototype dual-brand hotel property under the Sleep Inn and MainStay Suites chains.

Owned and operated by JTM Hospitality, LLC, the recently constructed Sleep Inn/MainStay Suites Meridian, Mississippi dual-brand hotel offers 69 spacious guest rooms — 38 rooms under the Sleep Inn & Suites and 31 rooms on the MainStay Suites side.

“Choice Hotels is very proud to work with JTM Hospitality on yet another project and especially one as notable as this. JTM holds itself to the highest standards and its record of success shows it,” said Steve Joyce, president and CEO of Choice Hotels International. “With this hotel now open and operating, we are very confident that, together, we are taking Choice’s innovative dual-brand design to the next level.”

JTM Hospitality has franchised with Choice Hotels for the past decade. This is the fourth Choice property in its expanding portfolio with more projects in development. The owners of the Sleep Inn/MainStay Suites Meridian dual-brand hotel are Jason Wood, lead development partner; Bryce Turnage, MD, partner; and David Majure, partner.

“I could not be more excited about our current hotels and the great projects we are developing with Choice. Our team is so proud to lead the charge with this new dual-brand Sleep Inn/MainStay Suites prototype,” said Jason Wood, lead development partner for JTM Hospitality. “Each brand has its own great attributes. The Sleep Inn brand is a select service hotel aimed at shorter guest visits while the MainStay Suites brand offers amenities for extended stays, both at a great value. This two-in-one hotel concept allows us to deliver the best of both worlds to our guests.”

Choice’s new, innovative dual-brand concept for the Sleep Inn and MainStay Suites brands is an attractive option for guests as well as members of the hotel development community. The hybrid design allows guests to experience two distinctive brands during their stay. For developers, the strong appeal of these projects includes construction efficiencies, operational productivity through shared staff and both public space and back of house facilities, as well as the ability to tap into diverse customer bases. This allows hoteliers to address multiple travel market demands — business, leisure, transient and extended stay – all under one roof.

Conveniently located off a major interstate (I-20/59) at 901 1st Ave East in Meridian, Mississippi, the hotel is close to aviation training facilities at Naval Air Station Meridian and the picturesque 3000-acre Bonita Lakes Park. In addition to the highly appealing amenities typically available at both hotel chains — such as free high speed internet, breakfast at the Sleep Inn/MainStay Meridian dual-brand hotel offers travelers twice the morning delight. Guests can start their day fueling up with the Sleep Inn brand’s Morning Medley hot breakfast buffet as well as the MainStay Suites brand’s signature MainStart hot oatmeal station. This hotel also features a shared fitness center and meeting and event space for both brands. But, most importantly, guests will be treated to good old southern hospitality from the hotel’s very dedicated staff.

The Sleep Inn brand features a simply stylish “Designed to Dream” guest experience which includes an accessible, modern aesthetic. Renowned architects and designers from Gensler collaborated with the Sleep Inn brand team to create the hotel’s contemporary but classic look and feel. The design scheme features soft lighting, warm hues and soothing, nature-oriented artwork.

Adding to the relaxing guest experience, the Sleep Inn brand’s signature “Dream Tips” can be found throughout the hotel. “Dream Tips” include friendly words of advice such as: “Rest fashionably – wear your socks to bed. They help regulate body temperature for a more satisfying night’s rest.”

The MainStay Suites brand is dedicated to extended stays. Whether visits are for days, weeks or longer, guests appreciate the inviting, residential-style of this extended stay hotel brand. Spacious studio and one-bedroom suites offer all the comforts of home plus hotel benefits, including a fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, and weekly housekeeping.

This hotel will participate in Choice Privileges®, the loyalty rewards program from Choice Hotels.
