Partnership to implement FCS e-Solution with their Mobile Apps at Ruemz Hotel and host joint video competition for School of Hospitality, Tourism & Culinary Arts students
Malaysia – June 16, 2015 – FCS Computer Systems (FCS), a leading comprehensive hospitality solutions and services provider, together with Taylor’s University in Malaysia today held a partnership signing ceremony and awards presentation at the campus of Taylor’s University.
FCS executives and Taylor’s University administrators, as well as Ruemz Hotel staff joined together to celebrate the deployment of FCS Rainbow Solution at the Room Adoption Program that run by the University, with the objective to train up the next generations on the new technology solutions. During the ceremony, winners of a recent jointly sponsored hotel operation mobile technology video competition were also announced.
The video competition was open to all the students from around the world that are attending Taylor’s School of Hospitality, Tourism & Culinary Arts and required a digital submission, which addressed how mobile technology is changing the next generation of the hospitality industry. Entries were posted to FCS’ YouTube Channel where judges evaluated each group’s work and peers could vote for their favorite entry by “liking” the clip. Akina Ho, VP of Strategy & Global Business Development at FCS and school Dean Neethiahnanthan presented prizes for the Champion, 1st Runner Up, 2nd Runner Up, Most Creative Video Award, and Most “Publically Liked” Award during the ceremony.
“Working together with Taylor’s University, it was our goal to challenge students to explore the possibilities of mobile technology in the hospitality industry,” says Philip Lee, Country Manager of Malaysia at FCS. “The submissions received were creative, thought provoking and showed great promise for the next generation’s expansion of mobile solutions use in hospitality.”
Staying true to their commitment to help train upcoming hoteliers on mobile technology, FCS has joined the Room Adoption Program organized by Taylor’s University. As part of the ceremony’s itinerary, a tour was arranged to the staged Housekeeping & Front Office Room. Those in attendance will experience a live demonstration of the powerful e-Connect, e-Housekeeping and i-Guest mobile solutions. The additional training on these back of house and guest facing technologies will help to ensure that Taylor’s University produces industry-ready graduates who can deliver excellent performance in their workplace.
“Our education is unique, allowing hospitality students to obtain a real-life, hands-on experience in a hotel setting through the operation of our research hotel, Ruemz,” says Neethiahnanthan Ari Ragavan, Dean of Taylor’s University School of Hospitality, Tourism & Culinary Arts. “Without partners like FCS, whom are dedicated to raising up the next generation, our program would not be nearly as impactful. FCS Rainbow Solution is one of the most comprehensive offerings we’ve seen and providing students a working knowledge of the technology sets them up for success as future hotel operators.”
Taylor’s University is the first private university in Malaysia and ASEAN to have a R&D concept boutique hotel within its campus.
