[MIAMI — June 16, 2015] — Less than any 12 months since selecting the global Indra TMS (Travel Management Suite, Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts has its entire front-office operations successfully running and being supported by their local partner, SGIT/John Keells Holdings PLC. The chain is seeing the benefits of running an all-in-one, open, centralized, and privately hosted cloud-based solution. This implementation is enabling John Keells Group to realize several business objectives, including: lowering its total cost of ownership, providing global support for end-to-end processes to meet brand specific needs, facilitating the accessibility of real-time guest information across the chain, and achieving greater innovation and shorter time-to-market capabilities.

“Indra and SAP have pooled their technology and industry expertise over the last two years to provide the most comprehensive global, integrated, above-property solution for the hospitality industry,” said Indra Senior Vice President and North America General Manager Connie Rheams. “Today Cinnamon and SGIT/John Keells Holdings PLC are leveraging the Indra/SAP platform to innovate the guest-management process by streamlining and personalizing check in, and in turn, enhancing guest satisfaction and improving the overall traveler experience.

“The partnership with SGIT/John Keells Holdings PLC has proven to be very successful with world-class hotel chains such as Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts,” she said. “Today many others are leveraging SAP’s state-of-the-art HANA technology that features hospitality centric modules such as CRS, PMS, Loyalty, CRM, POS, etc. This combination is providing a real-time, seamless platform to drive innovation, as guest personalization and experience management is becoming paramount to competitiveness in this evolving market.”

“Leveraging Indra’s TMS solution and SAP HANA technology, we have been able to leverage a new suite of applications to reimagine the guest experience at Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts,” said Ramesh Shanmuganathan, Executive Vice President / Group CIO of John Keells Holdings PLC. “This is enabling our front-office staff to check-in customers as they walk-in, query their profile/preferences in any of their outlets to deliver more personalized service, and create a better customer-engagement experience. In addition, this can help push dynamically-generated offers and content to the guest via the mobile app or to the steward driving unprecedented personalization. This solution, developed together with Google glass and iBeacons, enabled us to win the coveted SAP Hana Innovation Award 2015 in Orlando.

“Innovation was a key driver for our decision to go with Indra TMS, built on SAP and today we are using this as a platform to co-innovate, co-create and collaborate,” Shanmuganathan said. “The TMS solution and power of the underlying SAP Hana platform gives us an incredible sophistication framework to support our hotel business current and future needs. Together Indra and SAP are enabling us to leverage their joint technologies to improve the services offered to our guests, optimize our operations, and overall enhance our guests’ experiences at every step along their journey.”

Indra Managing Director for the Tourism and Hospitality Global Industry Xavier Trias said collaborating with Sigit and John Keells Group to bring TMS to Sri Lanka and the Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts brand was important for expanding Indra’s presence in Asia and introducing its joint capabilities with SAP to other hotels across this region.

“Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts is driven by a strong desire to innovate in the area of guest experience management,” Trias said. “Selecting the Indra TMS suite, built on SAP, demonstrates the power migrating core property technologies to a global, open system such as TMS. Today John Keells and its Cinnamon brand is optimizing and improving support for hotel chain operations, and we are thrilled to be in partnership with such an innovator.
