Sept. 23, 2015 – LAS VEGAS – Derek Stevens, Co-Owner and CEO of the D Las Vegas Casino Hotel, Golden Gate Hotel and Casino, and developer of a third upcoming hotel-casino in Downtown Las Vegas, announced today that he has hired well-known downtown executive Jeff Victor, who will be Vice President of Operations of the growing downtown hotel-casino company.

Victor had announced on Sept. 9 that after 9 ½ years, he was leaving his current posts as chairman, President & General Manager of Fremont Street Experience LLC, effective at the end of September. Victor is slated to join Stevens starting Nov. 1.

"As owner of two of the member properties of Fremont Street Experience, I have had the opportunity to work with Jeff over the past eight years and understand and appreciate what he has accomplished to the benefit of everyone in downtown Las Vegas," said Stevens, who co-owns three hotel-casinos along with his brother Greg Stevens. "Jeff is a very creative, high-energy and talented executive who will be a great addition to our team as we grow our downtown Las Vegas businesses."

The Stevens brothers bought a 50 percent interest in the historic Golden Gate Hotel and Casino in 2008 and later acquired controlling interest. In 2011, they bought the former Fitzgeralds property and completely renovated it, rebranding the tallest hotel-casino in downtown into the D Las Vegas Casino Hotel. On Aug. 14 of this year, the Stevens brothers announced they had also bought the former Las Vegas Club hotel-casino, which is now closed and will also be entirely renovated and rebranded. Stevens was also a minority owner of the Riviera Hotel-Casino on the Las Vegas Strip, which was sold earlier this year to the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority for expansion of LVCVA facilities.

Stevens said, "There is a lot of momentum in downtown Las Vegas and as we continue to grow our company, bringing Jeff on board was a natural fit. I'm bullish on Downtown Las Vegas and Jeff has a great relationship with so many Downtown stakeholders. He will be instrumental in helping us develop plans for the Las Vegas Club property while also being part of further building our business at the D, Golden Gate and Downtown Las Vegas Events Center."

Downtown Las Vegas Events Center is a special event, concert and festival venue which opened in 2014 on a city block bounded by Bridger, Carson, Casino Center & 3rd Street.

Victor said, "Having worked with the Stevens brothers over the past 8 years, I believe them to be the most interesting entrepreneurs in Las Vegas' gaming landscape. They are smart, ambitious, creative, energetic, and have proven themselves to be very capable. We have developed a very good working relationship through the years and tend to be like-minded on many fronts. I am thrilled to be joining them and their team as they continue to expand their presence downtown."

Prior to being hired in 2006 as the fourth president of Fremont Street Experience, Victor had been president and chief operating officer of On Stage Entertainment, a live theatrical production company. He previously worked in the hotel-casino and theme park industries in New Orleans, Reno, Biloxi, Miss., and Atlantic City, N.J.
