Miami Beach, FL (November 3, 2015) – The Greater Miami & The Beaches Hotel Association (GMBHA) hosted its 2015 Annual Meeting at Trump National Doral to highlight this year’s accomplishments and initiatives for 2016.
“This year, our overnight visitors grew 7% from last year with an economic impact of $25.1 Billion,” said Wendy Kallergis, President & CEO, GMBHA. “We are also very proud of the GMBHA’s new partnership with the National Immigration Forum’s New American Workforce, a program promoting new American citizenship in the workplace that includes the hospitality industry.”
Other accomplishments included the GMBHA’s Sustainable Hospitality Council’s continued awareness and adoption of sustainable practices for members and the association’s educational outreach program between hotel managers and those that service the hospitality industry.
The 2016 GMBHA initiatives, Kallergis added, include working closely with local and state government to regulate short-term rentals and ride sharing applications.
Eric Danziger, CEO, Trump Collection was the guest speaker and participated in a Q&A with interview host Scott Berman, Principal and Industry Leader, Hospitality & Leisure, PwC. Danziger gave an overview and growth plans of the Trump Collection brand that includes the U.S., including Miami, and Asia. He also covered topics on the hotel workforce and guest experience.
