CHICAGO (Dec. 21, 2015) – The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago will launch into 2016 by redefining the property's luxury standards on the Magnificent Mile. Beginning in January, phase one of a multi-phase renovation will begin with several enhancements made to further enrich the style, sophistication and tradition of The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago guest experience. Located in the city's fashion mecca, The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago will be "slipping into something more comfortable" with the refashioning of the suites and corridors, upgrades to a state-of-the-art fitness center and the addition of an all-new Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge. Completion of phase one is expected in spring 2016.
"The Ritz-Carlton brand is synonymous with luxury and we're eager to raise the profile of this hotel in Chicago's coveted Gold Coast neighborhood to provide the unparalleled experience guests expect when staying at a Ritz-Carlton hotel," said Michel Goget, general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago. "From adding the Club Lounge to refashioning guest suites, The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago will be premier choice hotel on Michigan Avenue."
The addition of the Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge, a Ritz-Carlton hotel brand standard, will be one of the hotel's biggest differentiators among other luxury hotels in the city. Located on the 15th floor, the Club Lounge will offer scenic views of Chicago including the Magnificent Mile and Lake Michigan, as well as feature exclusive services and privileges. The lounge will boast walnut hardwood floors complemented by clean, modern walnut cabinetry highlighted by hints of blue, gold and brown, which tie into the cinematography of the hotel. The space is designed to resemble a high-end, modern residential apartment with a separate library available for guests to lounge in or rent for private events.
For guests seeking a state-of-the-art fitness center, The Ritz-Carlton's upgraded center will offer unobstructed views of Navy Pier, Lake Michigan and downtown Chicago. Additionally, all suites and guest room corridors will be refashioned to deliver what luxury seekers and travelers expect today, including upgraded bathrooms of all 90 suites. The decidedly modern, yet minimalistic, design will feature all new arctic glacier white vanities, grey linear stone floors and separate shower and toilet rooms.
The overall refashioning of The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago will take the iconic nature of the building and fuse it with modern design, further connecting it with the destination in a classic, timeless manner.
Phase two of enhancements will feature begin January 2017.
