Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts announce the appointment of 15-year company veteran Rajiv Malhotra as General Manager of Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo. Malhotra, who joined Four Seasons in 2001, brings his focus on service and innovation to the award-winning property, which recently won a Five Star Rating from Forbes Travel Guide.
Originally from India, Malhotra arrived to Costa Rica's Peninsula Papagayo by way of a seasoned luxury hospitality career that spans several countries and includes management positions at Four Seasons addresses including Bora Bora, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Santa Barbara and the Bahamas.
"I do believe we have an opportunity to consistently create moments that touch our guests. We have the raw material, given the natural care and warmth of my Costa Rican team. I am genuinely privileged to be here and to have this opportunity to lead," says Malhotra.
In his most recent assignment Malhotra took the helm at Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta in 2013, where he oversaw the rebirth of the Midtown location. This included the launch of acclaimed Bar Margot, a guest room refresh and the addition of the Penthouse Ballroom. During his stint, the property garnered the prestigious AAA Five Diamond and Forbes Five Star awards.
Excited to be in Costa Rica, he will oversee his new team with his trademark mix of leadership, support and emphasis on innovation. “I’m looking forward to building upon the existing culture that defines Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica. That culture will help us pave the road for the years ahead," Malhotra explains.
Malhotra and his wife Susmeeta enjoy being international nomads and are ready to embrace the pura vida lifestyle Costa Rica has to offer, and to welcome their sons Rohaan and Rumaan.
