In less than one year, the North American leader in hospitality supply has introduced thousands of mobile charging devices into the market from Kube Systems

[Jericho, NYMarch 22, 2016] — Demand for mobile device charging is at an all-time high, as travelers are bringing more and more devices with them as they travel. As such, Kube Systems is reaping the benefits of its distribution partnership with American Hotel Register Co. Since the relationship began almost a year ago, American Hotel Register has placed thousands of charging Kubes into the marketplace at properties representing some of the world’s most recognized hotel brands – including Marriott International. The KS Clock™, which features Bluetooth streaming and the ability to charge up to six mobile devices with an Apple® Lightning, Apple® 30-pin, and Micro-USB flip-out cable, two additional auto-sensing USB ports, optional Qi wireless charging and intuitive alarm clock, is in high demand from the premier supplier.

“From the very beginning, we saw a lot of interest in the KS Clock” said Nydia Nieves, American Hotel Register Co. product manager, small appliances, signage & foodservice – merchandising. “The wireless version featuring Qi technology – which enables guests to simply rest their mobile devices on top of the Qi charging pad – is now gaining traction as well. Kube Systems is the only alarm clock series of its kind that we distribute today. American Hotel Register is committed to providing its customers with innovated products using the latest technologies, as evidenced by the rising demand for these charging solutions.”

Qi (pronounced “chee”) is the global standard for wireless charging. It is integrated into smartphones, tablets and automobiles today, with an installed base of more than 50 million units with no cables required. Kube Systems is leveraging the Qi technology to enable guests to simply rest their mobile devices on top of the Qi charging pad, located on the top of each Kube. Wireless Qi charging is available on the KS Clock™ as an option, and it is standard on the KS Portable™.

“When Kube Systems came on the hotel scene in 2013, we felt an immediate resonance among the hospitality community with our ‘charge everything’ design,” said Dave Weinstein, Kube Systems vice president. “Travelers are diverse in their mobile preferences, and they’re easily offended when a hotel can’t accommodate their charging needs. As such, market penetration for Kube Systems is growing exponentially, and we attribute a big part of our success to the powerful distribution channels affiliated with American Hotel Register. We look forward to continued growth in the coming years.”

Android in Action Unlike other in-room alarm clocks with charging capabilities, the KS Clock™ features a mobile Room Programmer launched via an Android App. The tool offers a GUI touchscreen experience, making it easy for hotel staff to program. The Kube also features a Bluetooth (BT) Clear Cache Interval setting that specifies how long a mobile device will remain in memory. This way a previous guest cannot pair to the new guest’s KS Clock™.

The KS Portable™, identical in its charging capabilities but without the clock or streaming audio capability, is ideal for public spaces, such as restaurants, lounges, lobbies and meeting venues. Rather than tethering guests to elusive wall outlets while waiting for a table in a restaurant for example, they can be spending money comfortably seated at the bar or a window-side lounge table where no outlets are in proximity. This not only increases customer satisfaction, but it’s sure to drive revenues as well. The KS Portable™ Charging Tray powers up to five units at one time, ensuring there are enough charged Kubes available at all times. To check out a KS Portable™ Kube, hotel staff simply trade a credit card or ID for a Kube and slip it into the appropriate slot in the Charging Tray. Each Kube can be programmed with a variable timeout function to limit user time and avoid power squatting. When Kubes are placed freely upon tables, optional locking points and security cables can be implemented for added protection.

Both the KS Clock™ and the KS Portable™ provide up to nine hours of charge time at speeds comparable to those from wall outlets.
