CABO SAN LUCAS, MEXICO (April 2016)Meliá Hotels International is pleased to announce the appointment of Edward DiLuca as General Manager of ME Cabo, which recently reopened after a robust $16 million renovation. In his new role, DiLuca will ensure that the reopened property, the second in the ME brand’s portfolio in Mexico, offers the same exceptional service that guests experience at all ME by Meliá hotels across the globe.

A veteran of the hospitality industry, DiLuca has assumed roles throughout the United States and Mexico, and will bring not only 22 years of experience, but also a fresh perspective to the ME by Meliá team. With vast knowledge of both the U.S. and international markets, he most recently served as the General Manager for Mundo Imperial Resort. Previous positions include a range of leadership roles including the Corporate Food & Beverage Director at Azul Resorts & Dorado Resorts of the Karisma Group; the Hotel Manager of Angsana Laguna Phuket by Banyan Tree; the EAM of Food & Beverage at Banyan Tree Mayakoba; and the Director of Food & Beverage at Westin Los Cabos Resort & Spa. DiLuca’s analytical and innovative leadership led to global recognition and positive, organization-wide changes in each hotel. With degrees from Cornell University, Las Vegas University, University of Delaware and University of Massachusetts, DiLuca has earned qualifications in many related fields including marketing analysis and planning, data gathering and special events.

Following a $16 million contemporary revamp, ME Cabo officially reopened in March, 2016. All 162 guest rooms, 62 ME+ suites and public spaces have been redone to elevate the overall guest experience by blending Mexican culture and design with modern resort amenities to create a luxurious beachfront experience. Re-invented nightlife, restaurant and bar concepts also arrived at ME Cabo including TullPu, a new signature Peruvian restaurant concept emphasizing authentic cuisine and Pisco cocktails, and a new members-only Sub Rosa lounge. Launching this Fall, the hotel has partnered with celebrated international lifestyle brand Blue Marlin Ibiza to create its latest hotspot, a multi-concept poolside beach club offering lunch, dinner and cocktails by day, and music from cutting-edge DJs in an avant-garde atmosphere by night.
