“The reception we are receiving from hoteliers at HITEC is tremendous,” said Dave Weinstein Kube Systems Vice President. “Our Kube Clock for guestrooms has been widely popular among the luxury and full-service markets, and properties with multiple F&B outlets and meeting facilities just love the Kube 5 portable for public spaces. When news broke that we were unveiling a value-priced Kube Essentials for rooms that powers all devices including laptops, our phone hasn’t stopped ringing, as booth traffic demonstrates. Today we can proudly say that Kube Systems has a solution for every type of hotel with every type of budget. HITEC attendees looking for an affordable, upgradeable, compact, multi-device charger with optional wireless capabilities should pay us a visit in Booth 653.”
Award-Winning Design Earning the People’s Choice Award in 2016 for “Best Technology Product,” the Kube Clock™ is an innovative power solution that features an intuitive alarm clock, Bluetooth streaming and the ability to charge up to six mobile devices with an Apple® Lightning, Apple® 30-pin, and Micro-USB flip-out cable, two additional audio-sensing USB ports and optional Qi wireless charging. In addition – and what makes Kube Clock one of a kind – is its mobile Room Programmer launched via an Android App and our replaceable and upgradeable modular cables that keep the KS Clock™ from becoming obsolete. As global charging standards change, this hardware is fully upgradable. In addition, security cables can be used to ensure the safety of all Kubes.
“The Kube Clock isn’t just another in-room alarm clock with a pretty face and a small footprint,” Weinstein said. “It’s is an innovative power solution with integrated wired and wireless charging technologies based on the leading Qi global standard for wireless charging. The Kube Clock’s accompanying Android App-based Room Programmer offers a GUI touchscreen experience, making it easy for hotel staff to program. Engineers can program settings for Daylight Savings Time (automatically adjust +1 or -1 hour during the respective DST switch), Display Brightness (day time / night time LED clock face brightness level), Alarm Tone (one of three alarm tone types can be selected), and Audio Volume (sets the maximum audio playback volume/ volume limiter) with just a touch.”
More Options for Less Cost Also for guestrooms, the new Kube Essentials alarm clock with multi-function LCD display powers ALL mobile electronics, including smartphones, tablets, cameras, and wearable technologies PLUS it features AC outputs so guests can charge laptops. The replaceable Apple Lightening and Micro-USB flip out cables are twice as long as those on the Kube Clock, and either can be upgraded to USB Type-C. The two USB ports on the front are of the rapid charge smart variety, and Wireless Qi charging is also an option.
“No product on the market today offers the combined design versatility, powering capability, price point and small footprint that is available with Kube Essentials,” Weinstein said. “Several hoteliers in the lower-tier segments told us that existing solutions on the market were somewhat prohibitive to their budgets. So we went back to the drawing board and designed a new in-room solution that offers a lot more, for a lot less. We are so excited to show off Kube Essentials.”
Powering Public Spaces, Meeting Rooms Now available at $999, the Kube 5 is a portable charging system that comes as a set of five Kubes and a recharging tray. Each of the five portable charging Kubes features three built-in connectors, two USB ports and comes with Qi wireless charging that enables guests to simply rest or “drop and charge” their mobile devices on top of the Qi charging pad, located on the top of each Kube. Guests can power up to six mobile devices simultaneously; all smartphones and tablets are compatible, plus fitness bands, cameras and headphones. Each portable Kube has an 18,000 mAh battery that charges at a speed comparable to wall outlets, and provides up to nine hours of phone charge time. Kubes can be strategically placed in high-traffic public areas or they can be made available individually to guests. Checking out a Kube is as easy as slipping the guest’s room key, credit card or ID into the adjoining slot. Each Kube can be programmed with a variable timeout function to limit user time and avoid power squatting.
“The five-unit recharging tray is the only way to charge a Kube unit,” Weinstein said. “To drive incremental revenues, hoteliers can rent Kubes to individual guests or make them available as part of a meetings package. Event planners can offer them to speakers, VIPs or attendees upon request. Kubes can also be customized with property or brand logos.
"Our portable Kube charging stations are also the perfect restaurant amenity to drive customer satisfaction,” he said. “Rather than tethering customers to elusive wall outlets while waiting for a table, they can be spending money comfortably seated at the bar or a window-side lounge table where no outlets are in proximity. This not only increases customer satisfaction, but it’s sure to drive revenues as well.”
