BRETTON WOODS, N.H. (July 07, 2016) – The Omni Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods, N.H., has announced the appointment of John Santaniello as managing director. With more than 25 years of hotel and ski resort experience, Santaniello oversees all operations of the historic, all-season resort. Drawing upon his wealth of experience in the luxury brand sector, Santaniello will maintain strong connections for the resort throughout the region, from advancing community and political relations to recruiting exceptional associates to provide an AAA Four Diamond hospitality experience.
Santaniello joined the resort and Omni family from Colorado, where he most recently served as general manager of Ritz-Carlton properties in Vail and Bachelor Gulch. Prior to that, he served as vice president of hospitality supporting all mountain food & beverage operations and as general manager for Steamboat Grand Resort Hotel and Conference Center in Steamboat Springs, Colo. He also did a turn as general manager of lodging operations for Keystone Resort.
Santaniello began his career in the rooms division of the iconic Five-Star, Five-Diamond Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel in Dana Point, Calif. He went on to successive leadership positions at other Five-Star, Five-Diamond Ritz-Carlton properties in San Francisco and Palm Beach. Continuing his advancement, Santaniello was recruited by hotelier Ian Schrager to lead Schrager's first West Coast location as hotel manager of Hotel Mondrian, on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood.
An active and involved hotel professional, Santaniello has held membership in the Hotel and Lodging Association and shared his knowledge and experience with speaking engagements at lodging, food & beverage, and ski resort industry events.
Born in Jersey City, N.J. and raised in San Marino, Calif., Santaniello earned a degree in history from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and an MBA with a concentration in hotel administration from IMHI Cornell-Essec in Paris. Santaniello, his wife and three children are all looking forward to opportunities to enjoy adventure and recreation in the White Mountain wilderness surrounding the Omni Mount Washington Resort.
