WASHINGTON, DC (July 14, 2016) — Arkansas-based brother and sister duo Dwight and Lynn Curry will enter the Washington DC market with the purchase of The Graham Georgetown, the 57-room boutique hotel located in the heart of Georgetown that also features the destination rooftop lounge, The Observatory.

Legacy Hotel Group, owned by Dwight and Lynn Curry, purchased the hotel from Mast Capital for $37 million. The acquisition closed on June 27, 2016. The Currys are third generation hotel owners following in the path of their grandfather, Lloyd Hobbs, who was a self-made entrepreneur and one of the first hotel franchise developers in the industry.

Dwight and Lynn, along with their brother, David, have developed a number of focus-service and full-service hotels, including the Doubletree Grand Key Resort in Key West, FL., the Hilton Southlake Town Square in Southlake, TX, the Hilton Carrillon Park in St. Petersburg, FL, and The Islander Resort in Islamorada, FL. In addition, they developed Movielounge, a dine-in luxury movie theater concept with full-service restaurant and bar plus meeting and event space.

The quality and beauty of the hotel captured the Currys’ attention upon their very first visit. “From the moment we stepped through the front door of The Graham Georgetown, I felt I was at home. This staff is exceptional, and my brother and I are so happy to join their family here at The Graham. We are honored to be a part of the extraordinary community of Georgetown,” said Lynn Curry.

The Currys are looking forward to further enhancing the already successful personalized guest experience while maintaining the classic identity of the popular hotel. The property will be managed by Gateway Hospitality Group (GHG) under the Legacy Hotel Group ownership.

The Graham Georgetown is located at 1075 Thomas Jefferson St. NW Washington, DC 20007. For more information about The Graham Georgetown, Legacy Hotel Group or Gateway Hospitality Group, please contact Erika Paola Gutierrez at erika@epgPR.com or at 202-255-9904.
