Bedford Springs, Pa. (September 28, 2016) – Omni Bedford Springs Resort in Pennsylvania's scenic Allegheny Mountains has enhanced its leadership team with the announcement of two executive appointments. Both appointees combined bring nearly four decades of experience in the hospitality industry to the historic mountain resort.
Bill Liedholm, general manager
An accomplished leader with more than 30 years of industry experience, Liedholm is responsible for all day-to-day operations of Omni Bedford Springs Resort, including managing the resort's approximately 290-member team and establishing and maintaining positive relationships with associates and customers. Liedholm arrived from The New Sanno in Tokyo, where he served as director and general manager for three years. He has also held the position of general manager for several hotel brands, including Milestone Hotels, Quorum Hotels & Resorts, and Hershey Entertainment & Resorts, and worked at the Omni Hotels & Resorts office in Corpus Christi, Texas, for nearly a year before the company relocated to Dallas. Liedholm has been intimately involved in several hospitality organizations throughout his career, serving on the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Tourism & Lodging Association as well as the American Hotel & Lodging Association.
A native of Northern Illinois, Liedholm earned a bachelor's degree in finance and economics from the University of Illinois. He also completed the General Manager Program at Cornell University, and is an American Hotel & Lodging Associate Certified Hotel Administrator and a Certified Hospitality Accounting Executive. He and his wife Elizabeth are looking forward to moving back to Pennsylvania and calling Bedford their home. Together they have three children, the youngest of whom has just started college.
Michael McDonald, spa director
Michael McDonald has been named Spa Director at Omni Bedford Springs Resort's Springs Eternal Spa following a year of huge success in the spa manager role. McDonald now oversees all spa operations, including managing and training the 60 spa team members and developing relationships with guests and vendors. He also works with the resort's impressive roster of health and wellness experts, including cosmetology, esthetician and massage supervisors to ensure consistent training and communication. Prior to his promotion, McDonald spent two years at Omni Bedford Springs Resort as the assistant front office and guest service manager then spa manager. He also held hospitality roles at Omni Jacksonville Hotel and One Ocean Resort & Spa in Atlantic Beach, Florida.
Born and raised in Flagler County, Florida, McDonald earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Penn State World Campus, as well as an associate of arts degree from Daytona State College. He currently resides in Bedford and in his free time, he enjoys traveling, live music, and volunteer work.
