RENO, Nev. (Oct. 12, 2016) – A longtime favorite among business and leisure travelers, the Siena Hotel Reno is undergoing a major transformation. Work is already underway on an extensive overhaul to convert the landmark property into the new Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel, expected to début by early 2017. With sophisticated upgrades to all guestrooms, as well as all meeting rooms, restaurant, bar, common areas, fitness center, and an all-new Bocce venue, the Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel will provide a welcoming environment to Reno travelers looking for an extra touch of forward-looking innovation. The end result will be Reno’s first non-gaming, non-smoking, branded, premier full-service hotel.
Blending chic décor with modernist design Working from an end-to-end redesign by AIA Nevada Firm of the Year BUNNYFiSH Studio, the Renaissance Reno Downtown hotel’s new interior will seek to strike a balance between Reno’s pioneering past and its bright future as a growing travel destination. Guestrooms and suites will be renovated to incorporate cleaner lines, more neutral hues, and a casually chic décor, which will blend seamlessly with carefully placed rougher textures and uniquely organic touches that echo the surrounding landscape.
An abundance of amenities The finished property will incorporate 214 fully renovated guestrooms, including 28 suites with breathtaking views of the nearby Sierra Nevada mountains and adjacent Truckee River. More than 32,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and special event space will be afforded by the hotel’s rebirth, including a 6,200-square-foot ballroom with floor-to-ceiling windows. Additionally, the seasonal rooftop pool and hot tub will be available to guests, as will a full-service restaurant offering full breakfast, lunch, and dinner with available outdoor deck seating. The Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel will also be pet-friendly, allowing guests the freedom to travel with their pets.
Location, Location, Location The Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel will enjoy an enviable location within Reno and the greater Reno/Tahoe region. Travelers will have easy access to the property via complimentary transportation to and from Reno-Tahoe International Airport, situated only 3 miles away. Once checked in, guests will be free to explore Reno’s thriving food and craft beer scene, 50-plus annual festivals, growing arts culture, and nearby hiking and biking trails. The hotel is also located within 35 miles of 15 top ski resorts.
Roll in and have a ball The Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel is proud to unveil Bundox Bocce. Centrally located within the property, Bundox Bocce is a social space where guests can eat, drink, and let the good times roll.
With two private rooms, an outdoor, semi-private grass area, and a space that can accommodate up to 1,500 people, guests can discover the delightful sport of bocce with seven indoor courts measuring 10-by-80 feet and two outdoor courts measuring 10-by-90 feet. In addition to the bocce courts, guests will enjoy the classics: 10 lanes of skee ball, and two 14-feet shuffleboard courts. Three banks of four 55-inch TVs and two projection walls will show sporting events and popular shows that can also be customized for private events and meetings.
Bundox Bocce will also offer indoor and outdoor bars and seating areas, as well as a namesake restaurant that will serve gourmet food created by award-winning chefs, Michael O’Dowd and Jacob Burton, and is loosely inspired by Mediterranean cuisine. Bundox Bocce will be open for groups and events starting in November. For more information on Bundox Bocce, or to book an event, call 775.321.5877.
