Avison Young Hospitality Group is pleased to highlight Thierry Roch and John James, who are located in the Avison Young Washington D.C. office.
Roch, a senior hospitality broker at Avison Young, has more than 25 years of experience in organizational management, business development and commercial real estate brokerages in the travel and tourism industry, including for-profit and non-profit organizations. In his current role, Roch specializes in brokering, leasing and developing historic, independent and boutique hotel properties. His relationships include national and international owners, operators and developers as well as senior executives of both branded and independent lodging and tourism companies.
Prior to joining Avison Young’s Hospitality Group, Roch served as vice president of hospitality partners at Forbes Travel Guide, where he was responsible for selecting qualified luxury hotels, restaurants and spas for participation in the "by invitation only" Forbes Travel Guide web platform. Prior to that, he served more than 14 years as the first full time executive director of Historic Hotels of America and was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by Preferred Hotels & Resorts, operator of the National Trust for Historic Preservation brand.
Roch, a graduate of the University of Virginia, also earned graduate recognition from the Institutes for Organizational Management at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He is fluent in French and Spanish, and is currently pursuing his CCIM certification.
John James, an associate, joined Avison Young Hospitality Group in 2017 and is focused on single asset and large portfolio sales. Prior to joining Avison Young, he worked with Jones Lang LaSalle’s government investor services team in Washington, D.C. as a research analyst. James graduated from the University of Georgia in 2015 with a B.A. in Communications Studies and has been a licensed real estate professional since 2014.
