Forsyth County, Ga. – HALCYON today announced a 152-room Embassy Suites by Hilton will be added to the 135-acre mixed-use development. The hotel will include ballrooms, meeting space, a premier fitness area with an indoor pool, saunas and a yoga studio, along with an extensive bar and atrium, as well as presidential suites to serve the Forsyth County area’s upscale hospitality needs. HALCYON, currently under construction, is being developed by RocaPoint Partners and New York-based The Georgetown Company. Heritage Hospitality Group is developing the hotel.
“Hotels have always been a part of our master plan for HALCYON and the Hilton brands’ reputation of innovation and excellence is exactly what we envisioned to fulfill the need for high-end hotel and meeting space in Forsyth County,” said Patrick Leonard, principal, RocaPoint Partners.
Embassy Suites by Hilton at HALCYON will include multi-functional ballrooms and more than 6,500 square feet of much-needed meeting space in the northern arc of the region. Demonstrating its fit within HALCYON’s ethos, the hotel will have a distinct focus on fitness that will incorporate yoga and saunas in its state-of-the-art fitness center and broad greenspace as part of its forward-looking design. An indoor pool and hot tub, two presidential suites and a large lobby bar and atrium will also be included for social events and gatherings.
“Across the Southeast, we are seeing increased activity giving visitors more options in the upscale hotel market,” said Jay Darji, managing principal, Heritage Hospitality Group Fund. “From amenities such as complimentary made-to-order breakfast, two-room suites and complimentary drinks and snacks, Embassy Suites by Hilton at HALCYON will set itself apart from other hotels in the Forsyth County area. With its ideal location, both leisure and business travelers can explore all that the city has to offer.”
“As we conducted our site search and selection process for the premier development for a leading hotel flag, HALCYON was the obvious choice,” said John Drew, SVP/Managing Partner, Norton Drew CRE, which represented The Heritage Hospitality Group Fund in the transaction. “As Atlanta continues its natural progression from Buckhead up Ga-400, the hotel at HALCYON will welcome visitors as the gateway to Forsyth County, and with the retail, residential and office space coming to the site, as well its position on the Big Creek Greenway, it’s the ideal location for a Hilton brand.”
The new hotel will provide the brand’s signature features such as an inviting atrium environment where guests will have access to daily complimentary made-to-order breakfast and a nightly two-hour reception with complimentary drinks and snacks.
“A critical component of successfully attracting the types of corporations we need into our community is offering great hotels,” said James McCoy, president and CEO of Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce. “The hotel, along with all the amenities and tenants at HALCYON, will add to Forsyth’s portfolio nicely and continue to make us more competitive for the corporate relocations and headquarters we hope will call Forsyth home one day.”
