HONOLULU, February 2, 2018 – Prince Waikiki proudly announces the appointment of Joseph Almoguera as Executive Chef. In his new role, Chef Almoguera oversees all kitchen operations for Prince Waikiki’s three dining establishments, including 100 Sails Restaurant & Bar, Hinana Bar, and Bird of Paradise Restaurant located at Hawaii Prince Golf Club. Almoguera has been an esteemed team member of the Prince Resorts family since 2013, and was instrumental in the success of 100 Sails Restaurant & Bar after its opening in 2016.

Chef Almoguera’s 20-year culinary journey spans positions at John Taiyo’s Cuisine Corporation, Hilton Waikoloa Village, The Fairmont Orchid and Waikoloa Beach Marriott where he held the position of Executive Sous Chef for six years. Most recently, Chef Almoguera was the Chef de Cuisine at 100 Sails Restaurant & Bar where he shared his innovative island dishes with guests from around the world. In addition to being an exceptional culinarian, Chef Almoguera is an extraordinary ice carver, a talent he learned under the tutelage of chefs from Japan and Hungary.
Born and raised in Guam, Chef Almoguera moved to the Big Island of Hawaii in 1999. He made Oahu his home in 2008 where he currently resides with his wife and two children. When not in the kitchen, one can find Almoguera surfing the beautiful blue waters of Honolulu with his children.
